Kids
LOVE video games, so we use this excitement to capture
their attention and make learning about math, language,
science and technology very engaging and very relevant.
We design all of our curricula to help support and meet
the standards for technological literacy and other academic
areas. To simplify course documentation, our Parent
Resources include a list of the standards we address
along with other materials to help assess the learning.
Computer
and video games are expected to surpass movie box-office
revenues by 2007, making it the fastest-growing segment
of the entertainment market. From script writers and
software engineers to music composers and animators,
there is a great need for creative, talented and educated
individuals in this fun, fast-paced profession! But
this industry isn't all fun and games; valuable simulations
in the medical, aerospace, and many other fields use
video game technologies in life-saving applications.
One
of the positive messages we invoke in each of our curricula
is the power of helping others. Service learning is
a great tool for teaching. One of the projects in our
Video Game Development curriculum has your student making
educational games for younger children, letting them
see how fun and rewarding it is to create video games
of value.
