Why Teach Landscape Design?
As educators, we must prepare our students for future employment. The Green Industry is the fastest growing sector in U.S. agriculture. This is due in part to the wide variety of positions within the green industry: landscape designers, nursery/greenhouse growers, lawn/greens maintenance technicians, irrigation specialists, even Christmas tree farmers. New technologies, like 3-dimensional CAD, are allowing designers to create and present stunning designs to their customers. The Green Industry is a unique blend of product and service sectors, allowing the industry to change with the times and remain on the cutting edge.
